GENERAL INFORMATION

Al-Khawarizmi Astronomy Complex is one of the facilities that are provided by Melaka State Government in order to study and to explore the growth and the mystery of the universe. Melaka Mufti Department has been honored to realizing the State Government’s ambition.

There were three main buildings in the Complex, which are the observatory, the Planetarium and the Training Centre. At this moment, the Observatory and the Planetarium has been fully functioning, whereby the Training Centre is expected to serve end of year 2007.

In the expansion of Al-Khawarizmi Astronomy Complex, our community has the opportunity to study and appreciate astronomy deeper. Apart from that, we hope that today’s generation has the potency to bring the glory of astronomy in today’s world.

OBJECTIVE

• To generate awareness on the importance of astronomy towards the community
  
  
• To support and generate the endeavor towards the growth of astronomy
  
  
• To facilitate the growth of astronomy to the nation through tourism activities
  
  
• To help the expansion of astronomy studies by doing research towards the
  characteristic that is related to our live and our belief.

DO’S AND DON’T’S

• Things that are prohibited by the law are not allowed to enter Al-Khawarizmi Astronomy Complex.
  
  
• Please utilize our dustbin in order to maintain the cleanliness of the area
  
  
• Please place your school bags and shoes at the particular rack
  
  
• Taking pictures during any of the show are prohibited
  
  
• Please wear proper attire. For Muslim, it is advisable to wear accordingly. Tube, short pants and mini skirts are not allowed.     
          
• Visitors to obtain permission from the management before utilize any equipment in Al-Khawarizmi Astronomy Complex
  
  
• Accommodation and foods are not provided. Nevertheless we are willing to arrange it for visitors.
